Insider Insights:
Tell us about your journey into property; what inspired you to pursue this career path?
My interest in property began early, watching my parents build their investment portfolio and learning first-hand how crucial market selection is to an investment’s success or failure.
I started my career as a legal assistant, gaining exposure to property law, conveyancing, and family law. Driven by my passion for property, I moved into real estate as a Property Manager before working abroad in China and London with 7 years of property industry exposure under my belt already.
In 2020, I returned to Australia and worked with a private property developer as a Contracts Administrator and PA to the Managing Director. With directions from the Development Managers, I negotiated contracts, managed variations, and alongside the legal team ensured legal compliance in QLD and VIC, further enhancing my expertise in property, construction, whilst introducing me to project management.
Since joining the team in 2024, I’ve combined my property knowledge and passion for helping others, offering high-level administrative support and project management in line with the client’s vision, helping them achieve success in their property investments.
What do you believe is the key to long-term success in property investment?
Having a clear understanding of what you are trying to achieve, when you want to achieve it by and why.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their property investment journey?
Seek advertise from an expert. There is so much more involved in property investment than simply owning one!
What motivates you in your work?
I’m naturally motivated and enjoy what I do so I don’t see what I do as a job as such. Don’t get me wrong, there are those days where its high pressure and fast moving where I’d enjoy nothing more than a wine…responsibly of course.
How do you maintain a work-life balance, especially in an industry that can be so fast-paced and unpredictable?
I think I manage this side of things really well. Whilst it doesn’t happen often for me, I think understanding that sometimes things pop up that might need actioning, and that our industry and the service we want to provide to our clients isn’t the standard 9-5…
Outside of work, how do you wind down after a big working week?
I seemingly keep myself just as busy outside of work as I do during it… I’m heavily involved in netball on a community and representative level so I spend a lot of time by the courts. On the rare occasion I’m not at netball, you’ll find me spending time with my family and having the odd girls long lunch here and there with friends.
